Personal Mastery:

Personal mastery implies an ability to “know thyself”. It implies an ability to know your fear/ego/wounds and drives; to be able to self-regulate emotionally and to be able to realistically assess one’s self in any given situation. It therefore implies a proficiency in managing relationships and building trust. People with strong personal mastery capability have high Emotional and Spiritual Intelligence and display empathy and compassion.

Leadership Mastery:

As a Master Leader you can build a safe yet motivated space for your team and organisation. Here Personal Mastery that employs Emotional Intelligence becomes Leadership Mastery employing Spiritual Intelligence. It implies an ability to live with ‘not knowing’ – an ability to presence yourself to ‘let come’ (beyond the edge of chaos).

Leadership Mastery also incorporates Social Complexity capability. A leader who has strong social complexity skills is able to successfully integrate his team/institution, working with the differences in interests, cultures, mental models, and history that the various stakeholders of the situation bring into play. This is a leader who, can presence her/himself in the dynamic of such diversity in order to let come an emerging future for the organization participating in creating the next wave for the Industry. In the words of Otto Scharmer, a Master Leader can:

“Transform the fields of conversation from downloading and debate to dialogue and collective creativity.” This means transforming relationships and quality of tomorrow’s results.

LeaderShape’s Leadership Mastery program integrates technical skill, Social Intelligence (incorporating Social Complexity) IQ, EQ and SQ. At this level the leader is able to listen with the depth of what Scharmer calls “An open heart, an open mind and an open will. Peter Senge et al, defines these open concepts such:

Open heart: The capacity to redirect attention and to use one’s heart as an organ of perception (“seeing with the heart”); to shift the place from which your perception happens to the other or to the field/whole; to access our sources of EQ (emotional intelligence).

Open mind: The capacity to suspend judgment and to inquire; to see some- thing with fresh eyes; to access our sources of IQ (intellectual intelligence).

Open will: The capacity to let-go of one’s old identities and intentions and tune into the future that is seeking to emerge through me or us; to let-go of our old self and to let-come our emerging authentic Self; to access our sources of SQ (spiritual intelligence).  Peter Senge et al.

The first six modules are delivered over a six-week period of one full day a week, followed by a seven-day Intensive.
